GunTray.com offers you 4 different types of ads which you can select during ad posting or re-posting. It is not possible to switch between different ad types while it is live. Available types are:

1. Sell
2. Buy
3. Exchange
4. Gift

In order to promote your ads first you must navigate to your submitted ads and from the action menu select last option.

List of available promotions are:

1. Bump Up Ad ( this will update creation date while expire time remains and can be used only once per ad )

The Bump Up promotion is very effective in keeping your ad on top of the list.

From the dropdown menu you are selecting general location of your advert while selecting it on the map you are being more precise. Also if the location search of the marketplace is set to geolocation, people who search by location will find your ad more easier. Locations Search of the marketplace can also be set as list of predefined values in which case value from the dropdown is being used.

In order to retrieve phone number of the seller go to its profile page or any of his ads and you will notice a text block with phone number.

If you wish to start messaging conversation with the seller first create an account. Once you have created your account, navigate to any of his ads and you will notice the button for sending message. The list of your messages is available on your profile. The system implements the AJAX messaging framework where you will be able to continue conversations.

There are two types of reviews – buyer and seller. First step is to register on our directory. Next, you need to send a message to a seller. Once the seller responds to your message you will be able to review seller and in the same way, the seller will be able to review you.

When users visit your profile they will be able to see your overall feedback rating, a complete list of your reviews and to filter them by type.

Once you post a review it can not be changed. Also, both sellers and buyers have the option to respond to a review.

If you have found some ad which you want to visit later or contact seller later, etc. you can mark it as Favorite and it will be saved to the list of your favorite ads which you can access from your profile dashboard.

If you feel that the ad is breaking some rules, you can report it directly from ad page by clicking on the Report button and writing a detail reason. Ad will remain active until the administrator checks it out.

Anyone in the U.S.A. who is legally allowed to own firearms, ammunition, knives, and gun accessories is allowed to buy or sell them here. It is your responsibility to be in compliance with all federal, state, municipal, and tribal laws when using this site.

You do not have to be a licensed dealer to buy a firearm. If you are not a licensed firearm dealer (also called an FFL Holder), you must make arrangements with an FFL Holder in your state to receive the item and transfer it to you. Virtually anyone who is involved in the sale or distribution of firearms is an FFL Holder, including gun shops. You must make arrangements with your FFL Holder before placing a bid on an item. By contacting the FFL Holder before bidding, the buyer can verify that all state and federal laws will be observed. For most firearms, the buyer must be able to pass a background check.

Non-firearm items, such as air guns, knives, ammunition, antique guns that were built in 1898 or earlier firearm accessories, and some gun parts do not require transfer by a licensed dealer. There are age restrictions on many of these items, and you will be asked to verify your age to the seller (typically by mailing a photocopy of your driver’s license) before you can purchase the item. In general, you must be 18 years old to buy items on this site. (To buy pistol ammunition, you must be at least 21 years old; at least 18 years old for rifle ammunition.)

While the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right of private citizens to keep and bear arms, there are some limits and regulations on how they are sold and who may possess them. Federally licensed firearms dealers are required by federal law to conduct background checks on prospective buyers, but private (unlicensed) sellers are not. Some states require background checks for private sales, usually through a licensed intermediary, but others have few to no regulations on private gun sales.

Federal gun laws established under the Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act prohibit gun ownership by certain individuals, such as the mentally ill or those under protective orders for domestic violence.
